Hey everyone! A few weeks back Kyle and I were able to go visit his family in California for the first time in two years! It was such a great trip and we were pretty sad to have to come home and go back to work. Kyle's next door neighbor Morgan found out I was going to be in town and asked if I would shoot some engagement photos for her and her fiancé while I was around. Of course I said yes! I had a lot of fun with these two. It was also really nice to shoot in a completely different environment than I usually do. Tennessee and California definitely have very different landscapes and colors. It was cool to get some photos that looked super different from what I can normally take in Tennessee! Anyway, I loved working with these two and I'm super happy for them to be getting married in just a few weeks this September!
Lauren & Brandon - Nashville Engagement
Meet Lauren and Brandon.
My first real interaction with Lauren and Brandon was at a wedding I shot last year at Crown Winery in Humboldt, TN. Lauren was a bridesmaid and Brandon was a faithful assistant throughout the setting up process. I remember showing Lauren how disgusting (really... DISGUSTING) my feet were after shooting a wedding all day. I probably should have tried to leave a better impression than showing my dirty feet to someone, but I guess it worked! I was so happy that Lauren contacted me when she and Brandon got engaged! I'm excited for their wedding in November.
This engagement session in Nashville was so much fun. Lauren told me they weren't really "field of flowers" kind of people and they were looking for more industrial looking engagement photos. Challenge accepted. I took them to The Gulch in Nashville, where almost everything fits that description.
From shooting with Lauren and Brandon I learned a little bit about them. That's why I loved doing engagement shoots before the wedding.
1. They laugh A LOT. I love it! They really make each other smile, which I think is a good thing if you're planning to get married.
2. Brandon loves coffee, Lauren does not.
3. They are both very easily distracted. Haha!
We arrived in The Gulch at the same time, but I had to wait behind someone to pay for my parking for a while, so they stepped into this coffee shop called The Tin Cup. I met them there and decided it was a pretty cool place for photos so that's where we started our shoot. It's lucky I was held up paying for parking because I think Brandon discovered his new favorite coffee. I had to take his cup away for us to take some photos and he was not happy with me. After the session he walked back to the shop and bought more coffee...
Brandon has this super awesome tattoo and I just needed to show it to everyone...
I promise, this just started happening without prompting. So I let it happen and then encouraged it.
I love how much they make each other smile!
Jessica & Alex - Savannah, TN Engagement
I had so much fun working with Alex and Jessica! I'm so excited to share photos from this awesome shoot. We were blessed with the most perfectly overcast, but still sunny day. It was a photographers dream day. I'm so pleased with the way the photos turned out and I'm so excited to be seeing Alex and Jessica again in a month for their wedding!
Thanks to my trusty sidekick Rachel who went on a location scouting mission the weekend before. It was a much needed adventure, since I had previously never been to Savannah. Luckily, we found some awesome spots for photos!
I'm currently booking 2016 weddings and still have some fall/winter weekends available for 2015. Contact me for more info! This month is the LAST CHANCE to get 2015 prices on weddings.
Alex & Andrew - Nashville Engagement
This engagement session with Alex and Andrew was so much fun. The couple was in Nashville to celebrate Andrew's birthday so we decided to meet up and do an engagement shoot before their wedding in May. I was super nervous about this shoot when it was bitterly cold and rainy all day the day before. I figured we would just wing it and see what happened. You know what happened? Perfect weather. We started shooting late in the afternoon and were blessed with amazing golden light for the whole shoot. I think the photos turned out wonderful and it certainly doesn't hurt that these two are super adorable.
I was so excited when Alex contacted me about doing her wedding photography. Alex is stylish and beautiful and I can't even imagine how amazing her and Andrew's wedding is going to be. I'm excited to be part of it!
This next one is straight out of camera. I LOVE this lighting, especially on Alex's hair. I thought it was beautiful.
Before we started shooting these two insisted that they would have no idea what to do in front of a camera and would need a lot of help. They truly had nothing to worry about - they were so adorable! Working with Alex and Andrew I could really tell that they are in love with each other and there's nothing better than capturing that.
Also, isn't Andrew's smile kind of amazing?
Alex told me that she wanted to take some engagement photos with ice cream because her and Andrew love ice cream and often go on ice cream dates. To this I said YES. Fun fact about me: I adore ice cream. I could easily live without all other dessert varieties but I must have my ice cream. The three of us are kindred spirits.
I ran into several poor people trying to cross the street while getting this shot. Sorry about that.
Alex & Andrew - Nashville Engagement Preview
Hey everyone! I'm excited to share this preview of Alex and Andrew's beautiful Nashville engagement session. We had a lot of fun shooting these and managed to get PERFECT weather even in winter! I'm really looking forward to documenting their wedding in May. These two are super cool people and I'm excited to share their story with you! I'll be sharing the rest of this shoot with you in a few weeks!
